The words we speak are very powerful, We should be careful how we use our tongue.
Words are powerful. Words make us, Words break us, The power in a spoken word cannot be neglected.
Words created the entire universe.
God spent six days using words to create the universe. He did not apply any mechanical types of equipment like bulldozers, excavators, cranes or any heavy duty equipment but words.
In (Genesis 1:1-31) He simply used words to call things that are not into existence. And He said; “let there be light and there was light.” likewise every other thing created one after another.
Words are the well-articulated sound that expresses a thought.
Words are sound codes. Words carry sound waves that are powerful enough to cause changes.
Words affect moods, behaviors and inspire actions either in a positive way to produce faith or in a negative way to produce fear.
For as much as the whole earth was a product of words spoken, then the whole earth response to words.
Sound waves cause physical objects to vibrate literally.
The earth is made up of 70% water and 30% earth.
A scientist once carried out an experiment, where he had two bowls of water which he labeled bowl A and bowl B.
In bowl A he spoke good words into the water, he sang praises and all manner of beautiful words. He even went further to expose the bowl of water to laughing children and babies.
In bowl B, he did the opposite of the water. He pronounced lots of bad Words into the water and went further to expose it to Sad and crying children and babies.
Then he went ahead to put the bowls in the freezer until they formed blocks of ice. He brought out both bowls and examined them. To his amazement, he discovered that the water In bowl A had formed very beautiful and attractive ice, so Crystal that eyes could behold. While the water in bowl B had formed ugly looking Crystals, deformed in nature.
Now, we shall take a look at the human body, it’s a type of earth that is made up of more than 60% water and 40% earth.
The human body fluid in some sense responds to words just like we saw in the above experiment.
So, you can take charge of your body and say what you want and it will respond.
The holy bible says the power of life and death are in the tongue (Prov. 18:21); In other words, in the power of the word.

You may say Jesus’ case is different. But you have to know that Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. He came to reconcile us back to God.
Even the centurion in (Matthew 8:8) understood the power in the word. When Jesus requested to come to his house on the request to heal his servant, he quickly intervened not being worthy to receive Jesus Christ in his house but demanded that he should only speak the word and his servant would be healed. And Jesus adhered to his request and spoke the word. Immediately the sick servant was healed.
WHAT ABOUT THE PROPHETS IN THE BIBLE
Let us take a look at Joshua, the right-hand man of Moses, in a battle against Philistines commanded the sun to stand still (Joshua 10:12-14). Although he was ignorant that the sun doesn’t move as a stationary body, but the earth obeyed him all the same.
Elisha the servant of God, by the power in the spoken word, spoke to the prevailing condition of food scarcity in the land, that there would be abundant of food supply within the next 24hrs. And it happened as he said read (2Kings 7).
In the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 3:1-8), Peter and John, at the gate of the temple met a crippled man begging for alms. On seeing them, began to beg for alms from them, but Peter replied that silver nor gold did they not have. Having known the power that is in the word, he commanded the crippled man to rise and walk. And immediately responded to that declaration leaped and walked into the temple with them.
There are numerous examples that could be sited to prove the power of spoken word.
NOW LET’S SEE HOW WORDS COULD BE REVERSED OR REPLACED BECAUSE THERE IS POWER IN A SPOKEN WORD.
When a word is spoken by accident or omission, you can still reverse the effect, by applying the right words consciously and cancel or invalidate the words earlier said.
In the case of Elijah, he told King Ahab there be no rain for two and a half years. And it was so.
And after the said time, he came and pronounced that there would be rain again, and there was rain. ( 1kg 17:1 ).
In the case of King Hezekiah in (2kg 20:1-4), Prophet Isaiah came and told him the words of God that he should prepare to die. But he pleaded and the death verdict was revised by God.
Words are powerful, they are life and death, they make us or break us. So be conscious in the usage of words.
